Danish Army Cuffs
1711 and 1716

The image below and all the information in the tables are taken from the pdf-document which was previously published in the now defunct website www.northernwars.com . This particular section was a shortened version of Daniel Schorrs article on Danish-Norwegian uniforms 1709-1720 which was published in The Courier, Vol. VIII, No. 2 (1988). I have included this information as an appendix to my own pages covering Danish army uniforms 1700-1720 because Schorr's description of the cuffs differs from Karsten Skjold Petersen's book (which my pages are mainly based on). Further down on this page I also have a plate from 1716 which is included in Skjold Petersen's book and which also differ from Schorr's description (as well as Skjold Petersen's).

The image below is a plate showing how the Danish regiment's cuffs were supposed to look like according to the regulation of 1716 (Rigsarkivet, Landetatens arkiv, Krigskancelliet). The image is here somewhat darker than what it is in Karsten Skjold Petersen's book from which I have collected it from.

Compared to Daniel Schorr's table above there are some inconsistencies here. The stripes on Prince Christian's cuffs have for example reversed order compared to the table and also the other princely regiments seem to have a different appearance.
