This volume contains model drawings of full colours as well
as details and fabric samples for those colours that were made in the period
between the two major reforms of 1686 and 1766. New regiments which were not
covered by the 1686 regulation were raised during this period and towards
the end of it attempts were made to find a new design to replace m/1686.
Because of a new method of manufacturing the colours the motif in the m/1686
had shrunk already in the 1730s, which the model drawings of Hälsinge Regiment from 1758
is a good example of (numbers 163-164). In 1761 the laurel wreath was
replaced with a golden frame of shells with a crown on top. After complaints
the shells were replaced with stylised golden palm leafs, thus creating the
m/1766 which would remain in use until 1819.
