Armies of the Great Northern War

In this section of the website I have collected information about uniforms and organisation for various 18th century armies, as well as tables showing not only all the regiments in each army but also in which theatre of war each regiment were located in any given year and which battles and sieges they participated in

The following colour combinations have been used to illustrate how the the armies deployed their troops:

Norway Sweden Finland
Denmark Poland The Baltics
Germany Ottoman Empire Russia

Anglo-Dutch service

Austrian service

Anglo-Dutch and Austrian service means that the regiments wire hired to the Maritime powers or Austria and fought against France in Flanders, south Germany, Italy and Hungary.

Campaigns of the Swedish army
Campaigns of the Russian army
Campaigns of the Danish-Norwegian army
Campaigns of the Saxon army
Campaigns of the Prussian army
