Örjan Martinsson

The largest nation of Europe was for a very long time France, during the 17th century was one fifth of Europe’s population French. Because France was so densely populated did the French people practise family planning at an early stage. The effect of this was that France’s share of Europe’s population decreased during the 19th century. The population growth that occurred during the 19th century was the result of an increase in the average life span and not an increase of the birth rate.
